August 7, 1939 - May 21, 2015

ADELAIDE (ADELE) ALEXANDRA MARIE PETERSON
August 7, 1939 ? May 21, 2015

At 1:45 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 God knew it was time and called Adele to join Bob with Him.
Adele is survived by her three children, Gerald (Michelle), Jason (Donna), John (Angela); her memory will live on with her nine grandchildren, Holly (Victor), Tanya (Josh), Thomas (Meghan), Anthony, Matthew, Bailey, Taylor, Sophie and Alexander; her seven great- grandchildren Cameron, Dylan, Maria Jade, Mckinsey, Brooklyn, Kodee, and Lily brought her joy. Also surviving are sister, Joan (Mickey) Mignacca and brother, James (Gabriella) Paulenko; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Linda (Bruce) Komus, Ray Peterson, Don (Joan) Peterson, Ross (Lenza) Peterson. Adele?s longtime friends, Ramona, Verna, her neighbors Fred and Helga, and many others will remember her fondly. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert (2013); father, Peter (1998); mother, Lena (2012); in-laws, Mickey, Verna, Bruce; and her infant sisters, Selina and Lucheria.
Born August 7, 1939 in Leonard MB, the Paulenko family moved to Fort William(Thunder Bay) in 1941. After living in Mexico for a year Adele moved to Winnipeg in 1962 and married her true love Bob Peterson in 1969. She worked at Westburne for 30 years until her retirement in 2002. After her retirement Adele enjoyed travel and spending quality time with her family and friends. She cherished her special place in Phoenix with Bob, Joan and Jimmy. Adele and Bob were able to see and do many wonderful things on their yearly drive back and forth to Arizona with Joan including stops at their favorite casinos.
Adele was many things in life, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, matriarch, catechism teacher, co-worker, gardener, parishioner, friend, confident. Her love of her family built bonds that will last forever. We will never forget the gatherings at Eaglesham, the chili parties at Corona, or the bonfires at Moon River. Adele?s first priority was always being there to support her friends and family. Her spiritualism and faith in the church will live on in us all. We will miss this pillar of our family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Gerry Ward presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue. Pallbearers will be nephews Peter, Paul, Santino, Mathew, Mark, Alastair.

?Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to see all human beings as potential
persons in whom you might dwell. And let me respect them
because of You, my Lord and Redeemer.?
