ADELE BEHLKE (NEE HOEFT)
NOVEMBER 29, 1928 – MARCH 26, 2023

With family at her side, mom passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, at the age of 94 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Helmut (Evelyn), Rita (Albert Degner), Harry (Lois), daughter in law Brenda; grandchildren, who ‘Oma’ was so proud of, Adeline (Terry), Robyn (David), Katherine (Cary), Daniel (Meghan), Greg (Dawna); great grandchildren Abbrielle, Hannah, Austin, and Cayden; two sisters Anne and Alma; sister-in-law Anita and numerous nieces and nephews. Adele was predeceased by her husband Karl, son Harold, and brother Art.

Adele was born in Poland and immigrated from Germany to Canada in 1953, with the family eventually settling in Winnipeg. Adele was an excellent mom and homemaker.  Wonderful aromas of her baking and cooking could be smelled while walking into their home at any given time; just ask any of the family and friends about her fantastic perogies! It wasn’t surprising that she was well loved at the Civic Cal Curling Club and the old public safety building where she was a short order cook for so many years. Years later she was a caregiver at Oakview Place until she retired.

Adele also enjoyed many years of volunteering at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church as an active member of the Ladies’ Aid group and widows’ group.

The family would like to thank the staff of Lion’s Manor Personal Care Home for their excellent care and kindness.

A Celebration of Adele’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St, on Monday, April 3, 2023 at noon with viewing at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada, a charity close to her heart, or a charity of your choice in Adele’s memory.
