To the Phaneuf family. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Alida.I (Kathy) have only recently had the pleasure of getting to know Alida and her wonderful family. You have all made such a great impression and impact on my life. I know what a special person she was to you and the entire community. Something that showed me how much she meant to the community was when she came to the pancake breakfast at the church and everyone stood up and applauded because they were so happy to see her. She will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Dear Gene, Real, Janice, Wendy, Rene and families. We cannot tell you how sorry we are to hear of your Beloved one, Alida's passing. What a loss for everyone who knew her. She taught us quite a lot including how to be kind and patient with people. She was such a great help at our daughter's shower, decorating the baskets. She also made two beautiful flower arrangements for our daughter Marnie's wedding which can still be seen in St. Charles Church. She whipped up some very tasty meals for us at a moment's notice. We enjoyed many an evening together. Alida will be missed terribly. Take care my Dear, Dear Friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.Chris and Colleen

ALIDA PHANEUF made my wedding dress in 1989!I will always remember and appreciate her kind way, paitience, and amazing seamstress skills. She made a beautiful job of my dress, and made that time so very special for me. My husband Doug and I always think of her when we look at our wedding pictures and share memories with our 12 year old son Alan. Alida also made all of the bridesmaid's dresses which turned out perfectly! Our condolences to her family. Take a little comfort in knowing that she will be fondly remembered always, by the Fidler-Elson Family in Calgary. Thank you Alida

Our lives were forever touched with love, life, laughter and good food when we visited the Phaneuf's and Auntie was always the centre of it smiling and loving each and every one of us. We are so grateful we had the opportunity to see her at Wendy's wedding and to talk on the phone in the past weeks. We are going to plant a beautiful shrub in Fiji, in her memory and will watch it grow, bloom and flourish. When Auntie visited us at our home in Fiji, she loved walking in our beautiful gardens making floral arrangements for us. We love and miss you Auntie, but will see you again one day. The angels have come and taken you to heaven. Rest peacefully. Much, Much Love.

It was only a few short months ago we were able to get together and spend time with you, Uncle Eugene and the rest of our amazing cousins in Winnipeg. You looked fantastic and I enjoyed spending time chatting and hearing the stories being told. Growing up I remember all the fun times together in Squaw Rapids fishing, camping, hanging out on Early Drive. Great memories! Uncle Eugene, Real and Michelle, Janice and Willie, Wendy and Ed, Rene and Sandra, our thoughts and prayers are with you all and the kids during this sad time. Brian and Annette Gateley

There are so many wonderful memories that we can hold onto to help us get through the loss of our Auntie. I have to share one - we brought Auntie Alida and Uncle Eugene onto the chartered Roughrider bus to the stadium in Winnipeg for the Banjo Bowl about 4-5 years ago. Auntie was so happy in the small sea of green fans where we sat. Uncle was such a good sport - the only Bomber fan on the bus and sitting amidst the visiting Rider fans....Rest in peace Auntie. Praying for peace and comfort for Uncle, cousins and their children.

Gene and family, I know that words are inadequate at a time like this but I want you all to know how very sorry our family was to hear of Alida’s passing. I remember her gentleness and wonderful smile and laughter but most of all I remember how much love she gave to her family and friends. She truly was an amazing woman. I once heard a saying “it is not how long the flower blooms but how beautifully“ Paradise now has the most beautiful flower in it’s garden. May your faith in God and the love of all those who knew and love her, help you get thru this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Uncle Gene and family, we share your grief. We cherish the many wonderful memories we have of Aunt Alida – she always made everyone feel so welcome and so loved. I treasure the memory of the joy she radiated at Wendy & Ed’s wedding short months ago. The way her face lit up whenever she saw you - you were the deeply valued treasures in her life and she was so proud of all of you.A mother's love is an amazing gift. I hope the many wonderful memories of joyful times together comfort you to as you gather to celebrate a life well lived, a woman well loved. Our love to your family, Diane, Dave, Erica & Bryan
