Anna Hayes

October 19, 1931 - January 3, 2016

Annette (CHIC) Hayes              (nee Batenchuk)   With heavy hearts, the family of Annette Hayes announces her passing on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Beausejour Health Centre, at the age of 84 years.   Remaining to forever cherish Annette’s memory are her two sons, Darryl and Terry (Elaine); grandchildren, Kyle (Meghan), Ryan, Mitchell and Alex; sister Gertie; brother Ted (Evelyn); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alvin in 2012; daughter-in-law, Annette in 2011; brother Ken; sisters, Margaret, Elsie and Olga and their spouses.   On October 19, 1931, Annette was born and raised on the family farm in Tyndall, Manitoba, then moved to Beausejour, Manitoba as a young woman. She worked at several jobs, including bank teller, medical office receptionist, hardware store bookkeeper, school teacher and school librarian. By far her favourite and most cherished job was that of being a mother and grandmother. Annette loved to spend time with her family, and never missed celebrating all special occasions with them. Her bond with Alvin was very special. They were inseparable, devoted to each other in every way and they enjoyed life’s pleasures and endured its trials together. They were never apart for more than a few hours during their entire marriage. Annette missed him terribly after his passing.   The family would like to thank all of Mom’s wonderful neighbours and friends who offered her assistance with everything from yardwork to shopping to hair appointments, which allowed her to stay in her house and live as independently as possible. Mom loved her home and community and because of their help, she was able to remain surrounded in friendship and happy memories. We would also like to thank all the staff at Beausejour Health Centre for the exceptional care given to Mom over the past several weeks. To Dr. Schmidt, who has cared for Mom for many years with patience, kindness and understanding, we will be forever grateful.   Chic’s Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in St James Anglican Church, 503 Park Avenue, Beausejour, Manitoba, with Rev. Brian Ford, presider.   If friends desire, donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church, 503 Park Avenue, Beausejour, MB, R0E 0C0 or the Royal Canadian Legion #132, 300 Veterans Lane, Beausejour, MB, R0E 0C0.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematorium (Serving Beausejour), 204.268.2263 or 1.866.424.6271 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
