ANNA MARIE STARR
(NEE WOLLBAUM)
AUG 24 1931 – JAN 27 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Anna Marie Starr at 90 years of age. Born in Mutrie Saskatchewan and lived in Vibank until 16 years of age. She then made her way to Winnipeg in search of work and helped support her widowed mother and five brothers.

Anna first found employment at Parkhill bedding where she became an exceptional seamstress. She later found employment at Kimberly-Clark where she met and later married Jake in 1962.
Living in St James and raising, (in her words), two exceptional children Sharon and Sheldon, she excelled at being wife, mother and best friend.

Anna spent many summers at the cottage in Winnipeg beach and could always be found enjoying her passion for bingo at the hall, often with our little dog Susie by her side and more than often was yelling “bingo”. In her later years she enjoyed the casino with the same enthusiasm…but only on her lucky days. To this day we are still finding bingo prizes.

Left to mourn are her children; brother John; sisters-in-law Helen, Eleanor and Jenny; brother-in-law David; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Anna is predeceased by her father Anton, mother Philipine; husband Jake; brothers Joe, Frank, Cliff and Manny.

A true angel in every sense and she will be profoundly missed. She added a spark to any room with the gift to gab. Heaven will know she has arrived…Rest in peace mom! We lost a gem, but heaven has gained an angel.

Special thanks to the staff at GWCL for their kind and compassionate care during her residence. You are exceptional!

At Anna’s request cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.
