After a lengthy illness it is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Art on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 69 years. He will be sadly missed but is now in a better place without suffering. Remaining to mourn Art are his wife, Justina (Chris); son James (Tammy); daughter Sherry DeCarle; grandson Adam; and his great-grandson, Kane. He is also survived by his twin sister, Ella (Wayne) Howitt and sister Vi Hayes, both of British Columbia; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Art was born in New Glasgow, Pictou County, Nova Scotia and loved the water and fishing. He worked in the steel industry until he retired after 30 years with Namasco and then Samuel Steel. In compliance with Art’s wishes, a private family gathering will be held at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge 3 East and 5 East for their wonderful support and care.
