AUDREY DOROTHY LUCIER (NEE PROCTOR)

APRIL 26, 1949 – MAY 7, 2023

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

Audrey was born in Winnipeg and was raised on the family farm in Woodlands, Manitoba. She leaves to mourn her husband Grant; children, Trish (Rui) Goncalves, Shaylene (Chris) Mikolash, Ginette (Marvin) Lucier and Cody Lucier; grandchildren, Matthew, Kristopher (Creslinda) Nicholas, Alexia (Taylor), Katerina, Ivy (Derek), Taylor, Kane, Kingston, Aliyah, Marlee, and Milliom; great-grandchildren, Noah, Theodore, Owen, Eliana, Amelia, Jayden, Ava and Leona; twin sister, Luanna Kotelko and brother, Alan (Tammy) Proctor and her fur babies Bella and Rac.  She also leaves behind Tim (Skye) Butler and their children, Angelina, Malikye, Jaxsin, Dreko, Lily and Mason who she considered her children and grandchildren; nieces, Rhonda, Nadine, Treasure, Naomi; nephew, Blair and many cousins and friends.  Audrey was loved by all and was affectionately called Momma Audrey by many.

She was predeceased by her parents, Bud and Lily Proctor, brother, Paul; in-laws, Bill and Mary Lucier, grandson Rylee and her beloved dogs Brandy and Babes.

Audrey had a passion for Métis and early Canadian history and was an avid genealogical researcher who spent countless years compiling documents and the lineage of her family and many other Métis and Indigenous families. She was a strong supporter of Indigenous arts and artists. Audrey enjoyed traveling.  She had many memorable trips to the Yukon to visit family, and spent an adventurous week on a road trip with her son and grandson to the east coast.  She had a special talent for crocheting and loved to make blankets for all of the new family members. In her leisure time she enjoyed going to Folklorama, gardening and riding on the back of Grant’s motorcycle.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Palliative Care Program Team, the staff at Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit and the many people who sent their condolences.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society in memory of Audrey.
