AUDREY (GAIL) WHYTE Today, Saturday, October 19, 2013, Gail’s Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue with Rev. Left to cherish Gail’s memory are her son William David Whyte (wife Padmaja, son Kiran, and daughter Anjali); stepdaughter Debbie Ann Hall (husband Fred, daughters Danielle and Lisa, son Tyler); stepson Jeffery Arthur Whyte as well as numerous nieces; nephews; relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Arthur Whyte; beloved brother William Harriott; mother Oddny Harriott; and father William Harriott. Gail enjoyed a variety of jobs in her early years. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy, eventually moving on to the University of Manitoba where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree. Gail went on to work for the Manitoba Department of Justice starting as a Correctional Officer in the Public Safety Building and retiring later as an administrative professional at the Winnipeg Remand Centre. She enjoyed many different hobbies such as reading, sewing and gardening and spent time volunteering with Ducks Unlimited, Correctional Officers Care for Kids, and serving as a long standing member of the Safety and Health Committee at the Winnipeg Remand Centre. On Saturday, October 19, 2013 Gail’s Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m., 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue with Rev. Virginia (Ginny) Coleman of Cloverdale United Church, presider. Special thank you goes out to the Officers and Staff of the Winnipeg Remand Centre, nurses and staff of Seven Oaks General Hospital, as well as the nurses and staff of the Health Sciences Centre, GH-6 ward. In lieu of flowers, Gail has asked that monetary donations be made in her honor to the Cloverdale United Church, 118 Montgomery Avenue, Selkirk, MB R1A 3Z4.
