BARRY ERIC BURKE

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Eric Burke, age 89, on August 28, 2025. Barry leaves behind his devoted wife, Sharon, his daughter Kathleen (Eric), his son Ken (Carolin), and his cherished granddaughter, Amanda.

Barry worked at Manitoba Hydro as a draftsman and coordinator for 28 years. He was a dedicated volunteer with Scouts Canada for over 30 years. He had a passion for the outdoors and for travelling, and together with Sharon, he explored Canada coast to coast in their motorhome. Barry and Sharon were also proud members of the Redboine Good Sams camping group, where they enjoyed many friendships and adventures.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Saul and Claribel Simkin Centre for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barry’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
