BLANCHE CHRISTIE
March 9, 2013
BLANCHE MARY CHRISTIE (nee CUNNINGHAM) 1928 – 2013 Peacefully on Saturday, March 9, 2013, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s, Blanche left this world for the next. Blanche will be dearly missed by Roy, her devoted husband of 61 years; four daughters, Daryl, Dorothy, Donna, Denise and their families. As a dedicated mother and grandmother, Blanche was a fierce protector of those she loved. She was a force of nature, full of energy and bold ideas. She was forward thinking, witty and a natural leader. Blanche was a woman with style, enthusiasm, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a woman who embraced change. She was well loved and will be dearly missed. A Celebration of Blanche’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Westworth United Church, 1750 Grosvenor Ave. In keeping with Blanche’s non-traditional spirit please wear your favourite colour. A special thanks to family, friends and dedicated caregivers of 2 South and 2 East of West Park Manor for making Blanche’s last years both comfortable and dignified. To recognize Blanche’s deep connection to her church and love of music, donations can be made to the Westworth Choral Scholar’s Fund or a charity of your choice.
