Marla, I worked with you one summer, the summer before you were married. I remember fondly the loving stories you told of Brent. You loved him so. I carry, to this day, the memory of you and your teachings that helped me grow in so many ways. Thank you. Peace be with you and your family.

The brief time I had getting to know Brent has left a lasting impression on me all these years later. His positive character always seemed to motivate him for more laughing joking then the average person. He was an impactful person with strong family support... a truly winning combination for living life to your fullest. Wishing his family much joy laughter and tears reflecting on Brent's life.

Brent was my favourite dance partner! Folk Fest won't be the same without him. For years, I've looked forward to our enthusiastic dancing on the right side of the stage. Sometimes people would clap and cheer when they saw his slick moves and my clumsy ones. Sometimes, they'd join us! Whenever I wanted to dance and everyone else had turned me down, Brent would always be willing, even when, in later years, his health caused him to slow down. Then we would go for ice cream. Brent would get vanilla. I always took an eternity to decide on mine. As the night came to a close, he would give me the best and biggest hug, bookending a perfect evening that had started when he lifted me off the ground in a warm embrace. You'll be missed, my friend! This year it, make look like I'm dancing alone, but you'll be in my heart. Christine Hanlon
