We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected death of our dear son and brother, Brent William Frederick Olson, who passed away on June 9, 2022, in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 53.
Brent was born in Kitimat, British Columbia on May 18, 1969. Brent is survived by his mother Rowena Schmidt (nee Kirton), his children Olivia, Blake, and Paige Olson, his siblings Debra Olson (Robert) and Robert Olson (Lorraine) as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Brent is predeceased by his father Lloyd Olson and step-father Erwin Schmidt, as well as grandparents Roy and Peggy Kirton.
Brent at his best was a proud, outgoing and caring father, son, brother, nephew and cousin. He was the cool uncle to hang out with. Brent will fondly be remembered for his easy-going nature and sense of humour. He was a friend who would open his arms to you without judgment, give you a pat on the back, and tell you everything would be okay. The happy memories made with him will be fondly remembered.
A memorial will be held at a later date with close family members present.
