It is with sad and broken hearts that the family of Brian Frank Hodgins announce his passing on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Golden West Centennial Lodge at the age of 76 years.
Brian was born on September 6, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He had many fond memories growing up in Souris, Manitoba. He is survived by his brother Dennis; sons Jesse (Jean), Darcy (Linda); grandchildren Mary (Roberto), Sam (Chad), Kayla (Cody) and Nicole; great-grandchildren Elena, Nolan, Ethan, and Connor. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth and father Alvin as well as by several aunts.
He worked at Adams A. Supply for approximately 30 years. He volunteered with various Lions Clubs, Cystic Fibrosis Canada and the Winnipeg Railway Museum. He was a Legion member for many years. Brian enjoyed bowling, cycling, and walking. He was a fan of many sports and was always watching them on TV. He loved watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Blue Jays baseball games. He coached the Norwood Tigers softball team. Brian loved animals and volunteering at pet shelters. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the St. James Legion #4, 1755 Portage Avenue at 1:00 p.m. A Private family interment will take place in Souris, Manitoba at a later date.
The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care and compassion for the past 3 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian’s memory to Cystic Fibrosis Canada – Manitoba Chapter, or The Winnipeg Humane Society.
