BRUCE DOUGLAS DEARLOVEMay 27, 1950 – December 29, 2016
With sadness the family announces the passing of Bruce at Riverview Health Centre on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the age of 66 years.   Bruce will be loved and missed by his wife Irene; daughter Brandi (Darren) Cook and their children, Anna, John, William, Grace, Carissa and Obed; son Justin (Liesa) and their children Venice and Destiny. He is also survived by his brother Wayne (Susan); niece Jennifer (Ken) Miller; nephew Sean (Jillian) and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Irene.    Bruce taught in the St. James Assiniboia School Division and for most of his career, he was a Physical Education teacher. Bruce was an advocate for healthy living and took his classes on many field trips, most notable was the annual trip to Big Whiteshell Lake, Manitoba. He was a dedicated and loving father who raised his kids the best he could, promoting physical education, health and educational excellence in its highest. Bruce coached many of his kids’ hockey and ringette teams and loved to travel with his family. From Alaska to Florida, there were very few places he didn’t take them. Bruce’s happy place was the cabin at the lake. Here he enjoyed fishing, boating and in the fall, hunting. He was an exceptional handyman, he built the cottage at the lake and always had a project underway. After retirement, Bruce and Irene split their time between projects at the lake and enjoying the winter months in Texas.   In compliance with Bruce’s wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. A small family memorial will be held at later date.   A special thank you to Dr. Harris and the staff at CancerCare at the Grace Hospital and to Dr. Frame.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 – 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
