CAROL ANNE EBBITT (nee CREE) September 7, 1938 – May 13, 2017
It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our friend and mother at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the age of 78 years.      Our mom was an extremely kind and caring lady. She was our friend and confidant. Our life has had endless love and happiness with our mom always by our side. Everyone who ever met her was impressed by her genuine character and tremendous heartfelt compassion. We love her forever beyond words. She was predeceased by her mother Dorothy Louise Cree (nee Mewhinney) in year 2000, her father Thomas Douglas Cree in year 1978 and her loving brother Stephen Cree in year 1996.      At the age of five Carol wanted to be a nurse and she fulfilled her dream immediately after high school, graduating from Mack Training School for nurses, Ontario in 1960. Her nursing career spanned 45 years and included hospital nursing, psychiatric nursing, concluding with 24 years as a nurse at the Port Perry Nursing Home in Ontario. Carol enjoyed continuous learning, courses in Reiki, Therapeutic Touch and would offer these services free to anyone who could benefit from it. She was selflessly committed to making the world a better place.      Carol loved her family and friends very much, and she will be remembered dearly by family members and many friends. These include her children Amy and Andy, Amy’s husband Robert, Andy’s friend Michelle, loving grandsons David and Kevin (Kristen), siblings and families Susan (Ian), Susan (Jason and Devin) and Joanne (Chris, Anneke and Connor), Douglas (Marg), Chris (Garry, Julie and Daniel) and loving brother Paul. Included are her cousins Wendy, Peter, Brian, Betty, Alan, John and their families; Barry Ebbitt and his sister Karen (family). Carol’s friends include Earl’s family, Monica, Mrs. Sturm, Sue, Michael, Craig, Donna, Cynthia, Irene, Zara, Marsha, Audrey, Joan, Mary, Eva, Kim, Chris, Ernie, Delores, Jackie and many more friends she cherishes.      Carol will be remembered by all the nurses from her Graduating Class of 1960 at the Mack Training School for Nurses, St. Catharines General Hospital, Ontario. Carol will also be remembered by all the nurses she worked with from age 20 to 64. She loved them all very much.      Our mom had a tremendous amount of wisdom and a sense of humor that she shared with everyone.  She always prayed for peace, love for our beautiful planet, animals and mankind. Carol performed endless caring deeds in her lifetime. Our mom was a very kind, caring, loving person. We will miss her very, very much.      In compliance with Carol’s wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held.      Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
