CL?MENCE PRECOURT
(nee LACHANCE)
With heavy hearts but wonderful memories, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother on Friday, July 24, 2015 at the age of 83 years.
Cl?mence will be greatly missed by her three children, Doris (Denis Smith), Yvette (Ralph Orr) and Lionel (Ginette Leclerc); four grandsons, Trevor (Jamie Riediger), Clinton (Jodi Ruta), Colton and Justin; sisters, Henriette, Laurette, Estelle, Rollande, Marielle (Gilbert Levesque) and Beatrice; brother, Raymond (Eveline Carroll); sister-in-law Anna Lachance; as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter Gilberte in 1977; husband Gilbert in 1994; brothers, Albert, Edouard and Benoit; and sister Alfreda.
Mom was born in 1932 into a large family and grew up in St. Eustache, Manitoba. As a young adult she worked at several jobs including a Winnipeg sewing factory, St. Mary?s Hospital in New Westminster, British Columbia and the local general store in her home town. After marrying Dad in 1955, they lived in St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba where they farmed and raised four children. Always hardworking, Mom sewed our clothes, cooked, preserved food, did painting and renovations and tended to both vegetable and flower gardens in the summer. Upon moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1995, she continued to enjoy sewing and did clothing alterations for many people. She was a friend to everyone and always had an open door to all who came into her life.
Mom?s pride and joy in life was her family. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and always had playing cards handy for those endless games. Mom cherished all the family birthday and holiday gatherings throughout the year. She will be remembered with having that special way of keeping us all connected and teaching us the importance of family.
Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, 1009 St. Mary?s Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Rev. Fr. Marcel Toupin, presiding. A short eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m. and a private Interment will be held at a later date.
