Darlene Meilleur was loving mother, stepmom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world peacefully on April 10, 2022.
She was born to Vera and Jack Sanders on June 18, 1941 in Dauphin. She held a variety of jobs, among her favorites were working as a fundraiser for Books for Kids and cashier at Dollorama in St. James.
Her proudest roll, however, was being a mom to her beloved Brandee, who tragically passed away at age 37. If there is some comfort, it’s knowing the two of them, who could light up a room with their laughter, are reunited.
Darlene was always down for fun, from dancing to playing cards at the kitchen table late into the night. She always had a least one pet, from a Spider Monkey, to a crotchety Chihuahua, and too many cats to name.
She is survived by sisters, Verne and Yvonne (Don); and will be missed by dear friends, Pat, Carron and Phyllis (Gary); nieces and nephews, cousins and those she made special connections with over the years.
Special thanks to niece Melanie (Claude) who offered care and support to Darlene always, but especially through the end of her life, and step-daughter Sherrie who was also by Darlene’s side in her final days. Great niece Melissa provided Auntie Dar great comfort by taking her cherished cat Dolly.
A small family service will take place at a later date.
