Mrs. Champion, I’m so sorry to hear of Mr. Champions passing, you will always be Mr. and Mrs. in my mind as most of my memories are of when we were much younger when playing with Bruce and Wendy while you visited with my parents... Mr. Champion was always cheery and had a smile on his face as the 4 of us kids create havoc at either your house or ours. My father always thought very highly of him and considered him a great business associate and a wonderful friend! May your memories of your life together bring you comfort at this difficult time Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time Karen Carswell

My sincere condolences to Champ’s family. I had the pleasure of working with him at ConAgra grain, my first job in the grain industry. Champ always had a smile on his face and very friendly. I don’t ever recall seeing him being grumpy. He loved to talk about horses and recounted to us how he had lost his hearing and warned us not to travel with colds. May he Rest In Peace and may the memories he left behind help to get you through the days when you miss him the most.

Dear Anne, Wendy, Jeff and Madelaine, Please know that I am thinking of each of you during this difficult and sad time and sending healing thoughts and much love. May your treasured memories of Dave help to sustain you. Memories: Unique as snowflakes Impossible to hold but for a moment Yet when one is gone There is another gliding down Until they become the blanket of protection For Mother Earth to shield Against the storm of loneliness Memories, gentle memories. Love and peace, Mary James

Anne and Wendy Dave was like an older brother to me. He was an impressive mentor who taught me not only a great deal about the grain industry, but also about life in general. Working with Dave was a highlight of my career. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to work with such a fair and remarkable man. Dave had many friends through out North America and around the world . He treated every individual with the upmost respect. Being good listener, he seriously considered the opinions and viewpoints of others. Friendships with Dave always lasted forever! He was known as “Champ” which was the perfect moniker for a man held is such high regard by so many. I was fortunate to get to know many of these lifelong friends over the years we worked together. Dave loved his family. Bruce and Wendy had the benefit of a loving and wonderful father. As a husband and partner, David was undoubtedly the perfect person to spend a lifetime with. Champ’s passing came too soon. He had much more life to enjoy but I know he was totally at peace and with you at his side giving him the strength to go on ahead. Many will miss him but none more than you Anne, Wendy, Jeff and Madelaine . My deepest sympathies to all. Terry James
