We are sad of the passage of Doris. We have had many memorable field trips with Doris together with the Grey Hare crowd. We shall not forget!

I am shocked and saddened by the news of Doris’ passing. Doris was my teaching partner at RRC, we taught self-care. I trained and ran 2 half marathons with Doris. She taught me about spiritual energy and how to connect with others through your thoughts. I enjoyed cross country skiing with Doris many times in the winter months. I will miss her friendship and wisdom. Safe travels my friend. Marlene Del Pino

Doris Orchyk was a marvellous person of true faith. When I worked at Prairie Spirit United Church, I looked forward to meeting with her. She always had a smile, soft voice, tender heart, strong convictions, and was willing to listen and learn. " Well done good and faithful servant."

I was so saddened to see that Doris had passed away! I had been doing her hair for the past,I think 10 years, and I feel that she was not just a client, but a friend! And a good one at that!We shared alot in common, being the good Ukrainian Dauphin girls that we are! My husband and I were fortunate to receive one of Doris' jars of sauerkraut. That was heaven,LOL! My condolences to you Don and the boys.Doris was such a lovely lady and i enjoyed her company.I will not forget her and will miss her dearly! With deepest sympathy and much sadness, Louise Hooper

Dear Don, Jason and Marc and Mary, Doris was my mentor, my friend and my colleague. We taught together at RRC and I marvelled at her passion for nursing. From her work with RN refresher, to her teaching Diploma students and then with the Joint Baccaulaureate Nursing Program, she always gave her wisdom, insight, and support freely. She lived her beliefs and found a new joy in working hospice. Her love for all of you was evident in her sharing of your hopes and dreams, as well as your accomplishments and misssteps. I will truely miss her. The world will be a smaller place without her. I am sorry that we did not have that lunch I promised her, but a feast awaits her in heaven. Love always, Sonia Jablonski-Praznik

I met Doris when nursing at Grace Hospice. She set an excellent example for her students and was always ready to assist with patient care herself. She was kind and compassionate. She will be missed. Margaret Neitzke

I am sorry for you lost Don. I remember when you , Doris Val and myself were in Barbados on our honeymoons. You and my wife Val got really ill but Doris and me were fine. I all ended well. I am sure you will miss Doris, but you have many years of memories that you can treasure forever.

I was so saddened this morning to see Doris's beautiful face looking out from an obituary notice. Doris was a regular Friday morning yoga student of mine. She would often stay after class to chat with me, offering her gratitude for the yoga teachings. It was Doris who introduced me to 1JustCity one November, when I brought out the Winnipeg Harvest baskets for our annual food drive. She mentioned that 1JustCity was collecting winter coats and mitts, etc. and asked if I would be willing to have a basket for them. I said - Absolutely! What's 1JustCity? Doris kick-started the collection by donating a beautiful handmade coat and several pairs of mittens and scarves and hats. Our Prana Yoga Community collected for 1JustCity every year after that, along with our food donations for Harvest. I retired from teaching almost 2 years ago and am now a very grateful volunteer at 1JustCity. Thank you, Doris, for your presence in my life. My heartfelt condolences to her family. She was a beautiful woman.
