DOROTHY MAE SULLIVAN
Dorothy Mae Sullivan (Mom, Grandma, GG, Dottie Mae, Dot, Auntie Dot) of Adamar Manor completed her 87-year life journey early in the morning of Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Though trained as a primary school teacher, Dot came into her own as an award-winning new home real estate professional. Her gift for matching a family’s needs to the right plan enabled the rapid development of the Transcona, South St. Vital and Island Lakes neighborhoods from the late 1960’s until she retired five years ago. In July 2005, Dorothy was an invited guest at the Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. An avid traveler, her last trip was in August visiting family in Sorrento, BC. The brain tumor was discovered soon after her return. Dorothy loved her family: Daughters Pat Sullivan (Cam McCallum), Colleen Coulter and Maureen Pemberton; grandchildren, Terra Faith Coulter (Ashley Degelman), Calista and Tiberius Pemberton; great-grandson Liam Coulter-Marx; and her cherished band of nephews, Charles, Michael (Carol) and Clair (Kim) Holley. In accordance with Dorothy’s wishes, the family will honour her privately. However, in her memory and in lieu of flowers, donations can kindly be made in Dorothy’s name to the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association, Suite 647 – 167 Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 0V3. The family particularly appreciates Kim Lewicki of the Geriatric Assessment Team for raising the flag about the severity of Mom’s condition, and Victoria General Hospital for her care.
