EDWARD FRIESEN

June 30, 1939 - March 24, 2015

EDWARD GLENN FRIESEN

On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, Winnipeg lost one of its most sociable citizens with the passing of Edward Glenn Friesen. Glenn was 75 and a half years young when he lost his brief fight with cancer.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marie; his eldest daughter Cheryl and her husband Tony, his son Jason and youngest daughter Melanie and her partner Nick. Glenn?s legacy will also be carried on by his favourite grand-daughters Jordan and Nicole. Additionally, Glenn left behind his three remaining sisters; Teenie, Helen and Esther, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Glenn, or Ed as his friends knew him, was a loyal employee of Kleysen?s Transport for 40 years. Ed was a hard worker who enjoyed helping people. His philosophy seemed to be; if I?m not being paid, it must be for fun. His only non-mechanics hobbies through the years were bowling and water-skiing, which he tried his best to make into work whenever he could.
A service honouring Glenn will be held in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to the service.
Glenn?s family requests that no flowers be sent. Instead, donations can be made in Edward Glenn?s name to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation, 2109 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 0L3, where Glenn worked so hard to recover from his stroke four years ago.
