It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine on July 27 at Riverview Health Centre with her brother and sister at her side.
Elaine is survived by her brother Willis (Pierrette), sister Marlene, sister-in-law Gail, nephews Shawn (Rhonda), Trevor (Linda) and nieces Tracy (Michael); Roxanne (Tom) and Karen. She was predeceased by her parents Paul & Margaret, brother Norman, and brother-in-law Alan.
She was born in Inglis and later in years moved with her parents to Cypress River. It was in Cypress River where she developed her passion for music with her good friend Kathleen.
Elaine joined the Royal Bank in 1966 in Portage la Prairie. She retired after a long, rewarding career that took her to Virden, Neepawa, Fort Frances in Ontario and finally Winnipeg. Following her retirement, she joined the Assiniboine Credit Union.
Elaine has been an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church for many years. She was also financial secretary of the church until 2022.
Music was a big part of her life and she enjoyed attending the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra concerts with her friend Lois.
In early 2023 she was diagnosed with cancer which she fought with courage and faith, knowing that her future was always in God’s hands no matter what the outcome would be.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Victoria Hospital and Cancer Care and the caring nurses and doctors at Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care and compassion provided to Elaine during her final days. In keeping with her wishes donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday Aug. 3 at 2:00 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church 400 Rouge Rd. Winnipeg.
