Hello Shane, Donata, Henry and Nora. Bob and I extend our very deepest sympathies to you on your Mom's/grandma's death. The Service was very nice with great remembrances of her volunteering, family and activities. We met your Mom and Dad when they came to The Compassionate Friends (TCF). We were relatively new at the time but became friends with them both almost immediately. We remember with great fondness and a broad smile the Christmas parties your Mom and Dad hosted for a close knit group of TCF friends . As I recall the only thing we were asked to bring was an aviation related tree ornament in Cory's memory. Your Mom and Dad had quite the spread of food. So, we ate, talked, ate some more, laughed and probably shed a tear or two, then we ate more, talked and paid tribute to Cory at the Christmas tree outside the living room window. We hung our decorations, Your Dad said a few words and I believe there was music. I remember your Mom talking about the fundraisers for Cancer Care and it seems your parents were key volunteers in facilitating the events. As broken as your Mom was with Cory's death it did not take long for her to step up and volunteer on our board and becoming Chair. She was very good and there was no detail missing in her role. Your Mom was a special lady and will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

Shane, Donata & Family, Glen, Maryanne & family: So very sorry for the loss of your Mom, Grandma, sister, Auntie. I have known Elaine since before we started school and she and I became good friends when she attended high school in Dominion City. She is my only high school friend to have kept in touch through the years and we communicated through Christmas letters, e-mails, the occasional phone call. When we visited from Alberta we had many lunch dates together to catch up. We know she was a wondeful daughter, looking after her parents in their late years, a loving sister, wife, and mother. She shared her grief and loss with both Corey and Bruce, and the grace with how she dealt with those losses. I know she was very helpful to others dealing with overwhelming grief. She was a special friend and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. We are blessed to have those memories of time spent together. Keeping you all in our prayers, Lee (Leona) & Brian Scobie

I met Elaine through the Compassionate Friends Winnipeg chapter. I will miss our talks in her car in my driveway about our sons Cory and Derek. Elaine was a sweet person who is now with her dear Bruce and Cory. Peace and hugs to her family. Dolores Sylvestre TCF sister
