So sorry to hear of Elden's passing. I was hoping we would have been able to have another visit with him sometime. I have downloaded his obituary for which I am thankful.

To my cousins Gail, Gary, Kevin and family: my thoughts are with you at Uncle Elden's passing. I was lucky enough to spend some time with Elden when he and Aunt Betty would visit Mom and Dad in Calgary. His affinity for classic cars was well known and showed of course everytime he visited. He would always drive out in one of his classics instead of flying no matter what!! He even let me take out one of his cars once for a spin which apparently was quite an honor. (I found out later as Dad informed me). Rarely did he let anyone drive them and that's what probably stirred my interest in classics after that 'cause it was a sweet set of wheels. I too became a classic car owner later but they are expensive to keep as I found out....he never mentioned that part though. His smile, laughter, and passion will be missed in the Bates clan and we love you.

Over 50 years of friendship! WHAT A PRIVILEGE!!! We had lots of laughs and lots of difficult times together. Even though separated by long distance for many years our respect and friendship was rock solid. Elden: when you passed on you took a piece of me with you. Soldier on my friend.

Gail & family, I was so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I can still hear his voice and recall the happy times our families had together for many years. He will be missed. My Mom & I would be at the funeral but as I'm in Texas, we're unable to attend. Our deepest sympathy to you and your brothers.

I have lovely memories of Mr. Ullberg. He was one of the kindest, calmest gentleman that I've ever met. He wasn't too much for the chit chat, but my gosh, if he felt strongly about something, you sure knew it. And when he smiled, you could see it in his eyes...he will be missed. Gail, our prayers are with you...your Dad was such a huge part of your day & life & you have done an unbelievable job of caring for him...we love you. pat & bob

My sincere condolences to Uncle Elden's children. I expressed to Uncle Elden, many times, how grateful I was when he allowed my daughter to rent a room from him when I had to move back to Dauphin to be a caregiver to my ailing Mom. I will always remember his kindness to me. Fare Thee Well
