ELEANOR MURPHY

AUGUST 1, 1965 – JULY 15, 2022

Passed peacefully away at St. Boniface Hospital (Winnipeg) on July 15, 2022, Eleanor Joanne

Murphy (Harris) of Port Blandford NL aged 56 years.  Predeceased by her parents Malcolm and Ena

Harris (Snow), sister Pearl, brother Calvin, stepmother Bessie Bailey, parents-in-law Isaac and Josie

Murphy. Left to mourn with beautiful memories husband Gord of 34 years, children Sheldon, Andrea

(Trevor), grandson Jeremy. Sisters Daphne (Gord), Debbie (Garland, deceased), Linda (Howard),

Kathleen (Herman), Cavelle (Roy), Tina.  Brothers Alvin (Jesse), Ivan. Sisters-In-Law Mary (Sid);

Valerie (Harvey); Brothers-In-Law Cecil (Paula), Stephen (Maureen). A large extended family of

nephews and nieces.

On July 15th the double gates of Heaven swung wide open to welcome a beautiful woman with

a huge heart.   Eleanor was taken much too early at 56 years after a long battle with cancer.  She was a

loving wife to Gord, and mother to 2 wonderful children Sheldon, Andrea (Trevor), and a grandmother

to Jeremy who would have been the light of her world.  Eleanor enjoyed the simple things in life,

camping, fires and being outdoors were her pleasures, her garden was her oasis.  She appreciated her

friends and loved animals.  She had an infectious smile, easily made friends of strangers and the ability

to make the most arduous task seen so simple.  She will be missed by a lot of people, family, friends,

neighbors and anybody else that knew her.  Rest easy my love you deserve it. ??

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the

glory which shall be revealed to us. Romans 8:18

Many thanks to Dr. Andrew Maksymiuk and the excellent staff at Cancer Care Manitoba, and to

the Doctors, Nurses and Health Care Aides on the Palliative Care ward at St. Boniface Hospital.

Cremation as per her wishes to take place.  Memorial service at some future date.
