ELIZABETH D’AOUST Prayers were held on Sunday evening, June 24 at 7:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Boulevard at Grant Avenue. Funeral Liturgy was Celebrated on Monday morning, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. also in the Church, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. presiding. Interment followed in the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.Publish Date: Jun 30, 2012ELIZABETH D’AOUST Elizabeth D’Aoust passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the age of 74 years, following a four month battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish Elizabeth’s memory are her five children Madelaine, Maureen, Ramone, Pauline and Daniel; four sons-in-law, Walter, Jim, Ron, and Michael; daughter-in-law, Sandy; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends, but we know she has gone to a better place and will join many of her loved ones in the Kingdom of heaven. Elizabeth was born on May 20, 1938 in Einthoven, Holland and was the youngest of 13 children born to her parents Johanna and Peter Van Ginkel. In 1954, she moved to Canada with her parents and siblings and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Soon after, she married John D’Aoust in 1958 and lived in Winnipeg for most of their 48 years of marriage. Elizabeth was always close to her siblings and is survived by her sister Kitty Lodewycks and brother Tony Van Ginkel. She was very devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and enjoyed hosting many family dinners. She loved camping outdoors and working in her garden. She was a working mother and was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League, sang in the church choir, and volunteered in a variety of ways throughout her life. Elizabeth was an amazing seamstress and a wonderful cook. Being surrounded by her family gave her the most joy in her life, and was surrounded by her children when she passed.
