EMIL PITURA
A Life Well Lived
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Emil Pitura on November 4, 2016, at Seven Oaks Hospital, at the age of 87.   Emil was the third son born to Ann and Michael Pitura on May 30, 1929. At the age of 15 he quit school and moved to Red Lake to work for his brother Joe. He returned to Winnipeg and began his career driving transport trucks. In 1964 he started driving bus for Eagle Bus Lines. He was the requested driver for Don Messer, Tommy Hunter, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and many hockey teams. He was highly respected by all those he came in contact with. In 1980 Emil continued his career with Beaver Bus Lines, enjoying many years there, retiring in 2004 to spend time with his wife Ann. They enjoyed many visits to the McPhillips Street Casino and became well respected by the casino staff.   Predeceased by his mother and father, wife Ann, and brothers Joe and Eddie. Saddened by his loss are his brothers Paul (Lorraine) and Russell; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Pitura and Betty Kellar, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families who all loved him dearly.   As per Emil’s wishes, there will be no service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.   A special thank you is extended to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd Floor, Unit 4 for the care given to Emil. Also a special thank you to those who took the time to visit with him, especially Jerry Pitura, Barbara (Pitura) Thompson and Richard Pitura, it meant so much to him to have you near.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematorium, Winnipeg, 1020 Main Street, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
