ERNEST (ERNIE) MARIASH
May 3, 1941 – December 4, 2017
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Ernie at the age of 76 years. He was born and raised in the RM of Brokenhead living and working on the family farm north of Beausejour. Later on, moving to Winnipeg, to begin his career and raise a family.    Leaving behind to cherish Ernie’s memory are his wife Bernice; children Glenn (Marne), Audrey (Victor), Bruce (Rachelle), Roberta (Craig); grandchildren Christine, Russell, Randall, Bradley, Caitlyn, Liam, Kassidy; great grandchild Daye-Lynne and step grandchildren Aubree, Joel, Baillee; his sister Margery and brother Leonard (Christina) and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents William and Mary; brothers Edward, John, Lawrence, Bernard and granddaughter Dana.    Ernie took great pride in his work as a heavy equipment mechanic. Taking no shortcuts to ensure the job was done once and done right. He spent many months on the road away from home on various job sites in Manitoba, Ontario and the Northwest Territories to provide for his family.    Enjoying the outdoors, Ernie looked forward to family camping trips, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He took great enjoyment telling stories and will be remembered as an intelligent hard-working man. Ernie also had a mischievous side pulling many pranks and jokes on his coworkers and friends. He’ll be missed by the many lives he’s touched over the years.    A Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.  in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue, Winnipeg, MB.  A Reception will follow.    In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 1020 Main Street, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
