EVALINE MCINTYRE

Peacefully, courageously, and surrounded by those she loved, Mom passed away February 27th, 2022 at The Grace Hospital. We celebrated Mom’s birthday December 24th, she was 89 years. Mom knew Dad was waiting for her, and with her faith in God, she knew she would go Home. She found her Cardinal to guide her.

Mom grew up in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan where she had many adventures as a young girl, to womanhood. She often spoke of spending time fishing, duck hunting ,swimming as well as many wonderful outdoor activities like camping and cookouts. Word has it she used to love to dance too.

Mom met Dad at The Hudson’s Bay Company in Cumberland House. They married March 21, 1956 and were married for 58 years until Dad passed in 2014.

They started their family a few years after they married, raising their children in many different places throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba due to Dad’s career. Mom often spoke of the wonderful people, and moments, she had in many of the small communities, especially up North. She said ” we made our own fun” as she told stories of curling on the lake with a pound of frozen ground beef.

After their family was started , Mom was a homemaker. They then decided on buying several businesses , together with Dad, over a forty year period. She was kept very busy. However, a little later in life, she thoroughly enjoyed her yearly travels to Mexico with Dad.

One of Mom’s hobbies was baking. This is evident with all the written recipes she left. She made the very best pie crust and we know she made things from love. Mom also liked knitting, sewing and loved to be by the water.

She was, and still is, a Mother, a Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is greatly missed and her absence is felt every day.

Thank you to all the amazing staff at The Grace Hospital for the care ,and the compassion, shown towards Mom as she went on her journey Home, and the staff at Wojcik’s Funeral Home for the kindness shown in this very difficult time.

Rest now Mom, you are Home.
