She married William in 1954; recently celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. Evelyn was a stay at home mom placing her children and family first as her husband served in the military. Her children have very fond memories of time spent with mom, and are most grateful for her constant support and encouragement in all life choices.   In her early years Evelyn enjoyed curling, bingo, sewing, gardening, baking, and knitting. Eventually she learned to crochet making numerous afghans for her family.   Evelyn and William would spend their time between their home in Winnipeg, and their cottage in the Big Whiteshell. The family has many enjoyable memories at the cottage where everyone would come together and spend their time at the dock, fishing, laughing and relaxing.   A lot of Evelyn’s time was spent with her friends and family. She went on regular outings for lunch and shopping with her sister Jeannie. She always enjoyed listening to music, especially of her brother Raymond’s band. She always looked forward to visits with her nephews, whom she had a special bond with.   Evelyn was blessed with life-long friends. Gerry, a dear friend of 60 years who Evelyn would attend social events with, and spend hours on the phone talking, sharing, and laughing together. Neighbours Jessie and Roy, who shared in numerous coffees and laughs; and the Cassell family, who were more than neighbours, but extended family.   A private service will be held at a later date.   The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Lodge for their wonderful care.   In lieu of flowers, donations graciously accepted to the Movement Disorder Clinic at the Deer Lodge Centre.              Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
