FLORENCE ALICIA KROGH
(NEE MATHIAS)
   With sadness, we announce the death of Florence, on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Misericordia Place at the age of 93 years.   Florence is survived by sons Harley and Stuart (Rosalie); grandsons Spencer and Joel (Susan); sisters Ethel and Ruth as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Aksel and sister Gwen;   Nurse, naturalist, organic gardener, philanthropist, social activist; Mom was ahead of her time; a conservationist, though not a conservative. She practiced the three Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle, before it ever became a ‘thing’. Mom and Dad left the city to enjoy country living for twenty years; raising bees, chickens and living off the land. A greenhouse/root cellar allowed for fruit trees; even a peach tree! Nature was dear to their hearts.   Sadly, Dad’s illness cut short that time and brought them back to the city where Mom cared for him at home until his passing. She resumed her cherished connection to Young United Church; contributing any way she could.   A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at Young United Church, Furby at Broadway on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.   We thank the staff at Misericordia Place for the excellent care Mom received while there.  She really appreciated everyone.   Mom loved flowers but her practical side would say if you so wish, make a donation to something you care about. She also supported organ donation, recycling at its’ finest.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
