In the late evening January 9 Francine called and invited me to come over the following morning to have a cup of tea with her, she added don't come to early as she liked to sleep in. When I arrived and made the tea, she mentioned she could not find her remote for the TV. Since she had requested that I not come early, I was not aware of the messages she left the morning of the January 10th. We had a good conversation, I had made the suggestion earlier in the week she should get herself checked at the hospital. That morning Francine said she was ready to go. I had previously let her know I had a appointment to attend, in early afternoon and would return after the appointment and make arrangements for her to get checked out. I would stay with her till 12:45 knowing Home care came at 1 pm. Francine expressed some concerns she had, one of them was she felt her poinsettia needed more soil, she also expressed some concerns she had about family. We then sat silent, shortly after Francine fell asleep it looked like she fell into a deep sleep the way her head was tilted. We sat quietly for another 15 minutes, Then I said I need to go to my appointment, repeated in a louder voice, touch her hand and said to her I will return. I felt she was in a deep sleep. When Home care came at 1 pm, Francine did not respond, a ambulance was called. Home care notified Katey that they were attempting to resistant her and had taken her to the hospital. Having spoken to people that saw Francine being taken to the hospital. Francine had not fallen asleep in my present but rather passed away. It gave comfort knowing Francine passed away on her terms, it gave comfort knowing she was not alone when her spirit left her. The next time I saw Francine was at the funeral home one week later, I was able to say a prayer with her and hold her hand. The private funeral service would take place Monday before Cremation. I had prepared a reading from 1 Corinthians 13 : 4 Love is patient and kin : it is not jealous or conceited or proud, love is not ill-mannered selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love does not happy with evil, but is happy with truth. Love never gives up; ands its faith, hope and patience never fail. Matthew 11 : 28 Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Psalm 23. The Lord is my Shepard. Songs that that I prepared, What a Friend we have in Jesus. Guide me o thou great Jehovah. It is well with my Soul. Songs song by James Taylor who was one of her favorite singers. In closing at our wedding the minister quoted Romans 12 : 12 Let hope keep you joyful; in trouble stand firm; persist in prayer. What gave me comfort after the service was Katey was able to speak to her Mom. Francine's spirit lives on in all of who she touched in her life, May her soul be at peace.
