FRANK MOSKI

With profound sorrow the family announces the peaceful passing of Mr. Frank Moski, aged 91 years, on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Seven Oaks Hospital, in the presence of family.
Beloved as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Frank was predeceased by his infant son, Michael; daughter, Brenda; brothers, John, Joseph, Michael, and sister, Jean; and daughter-in-law, Linda. To cherish his influence Frank leaves his wife, Elsie; his children, Joseph, John, and Donna; his sister, Helen; his grandchildren, Cole, Michael, Zoe, and Phoebe; and many nieces and nephews.
Frank was born on December 9, 1923, and was a devoted husband and a dedicated father who worked for 33 years for CP Rail (Weston Shops) before retiring in 1983. Like his brother, Mike, Frank displayed exceptional athletic prowess as a soccer player in his youth, playing for, and ultimately coaching the Institute Prosvita Athletic Club (IPAC) Rovers to a Canadian Junior Championship in 1952. A lifetime fan of most sports, Frank enjoyed golfing and was an original member of Bel Acres Golf & Country Club. Indeed, he passed on his enthusiasm for the game to his children and relished those moments when his children and nephews emulated him on the links (except for that near-miss from his daughter?s low screamer).
As therapy for a health issue, Frank regularly attended the Wellness Institute at Seven Oaks Hospital and, with limited mobility in recent years, enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, and (of course) watching televised sports. With his easy-going, ?carry-on? disposition Frank?s demeanor was calm, composed, mild-mannered, and laid-back, seemingly imperturbable. He was generous in nature, genuine in character, and in possession of a discriminating eye for fact and fancy- a trait certainly not lost upon, or within, his immediate family- or others that knew him.
The family thanks Dr. D. M. Miller, The staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, the paramedic teams and fire department, and the Homecare personnel who attended to Frank at home.
A private service to celebrate Frank?s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society, or to a charity of your choice.
