FREDA JOYCE CAMERON

OCTOBER 11, 1929 – JULY 5, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Freda Cameron on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at her home after a short battle with cancer.

Remaining to forever cherish Freda’s memory are her three sons, Gary, Kevin and Mark and daughter, Janice.  Her brother, Ken, in England and many relatives and friends.

Freda was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ernest. Her parents, Frederick and Martha.  Four sisters, Violet, Kathy, Elizabeth and Esther.  Two brothers, Ronald and Leslie.

Freda was born in Brighton, England and moved to Canada in the 1950’s.  She met her future husband while they were both working for Scott-Bathgate Ltd.  They married and raised a family with Freda becoming a stay-at-home mom for her 4 children.  She did volunteer at Isaac Brock Community Centre, working in the canteen for some years.  In later life she took trips within Canada and went back home to England.  She enjoyed shopping trips with her sister, Essie, visiting Les and Peg, listening to all her favorite music and doing her word search.  She dearly loved her Hollywood Husky a.ka. Columbus, who passed away and her other grand doggie, Riley.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

We extend our deepest thanks to Ophelia, Rosa, Lauren, and others for their help in caring for Mom.

“Gone from us that smiling face,

The cheerful pleasant ways,

The heart that won so many friends,

In bygone. happy days,

A life made beautiful by kindly deeds,

A helping hand for others’ needs,

To a beautiful life,

Comes a happy end,

She died as she lived,

Everyone’s friend.”
