March 12, 1936 - December 5, 2017

FREDERICK “BUD” CHARLES KONZELMAN
Frederick “Bud” Charles Konzelman passed away in the late afternoon on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the Grace Hospital after a late stage diagnosis with cancer.   Left to survive Bud are his wife Florence Konzelman; siblings Connie Walton, Ed Konzelman, Janet (Randy) Hilderman, Barry (Maggie) Konzelman; his four children Anita VanVeen (Henk), Charles Konzelman (Julie), April Weber (Rod), and Dennis Konzelman (Jill), along with his grandchildren, Christina, Karl, Angelina, Maria, Jessica, Christopher, Carly, Kathleen, Alex, Corinne, Katerina, Sebastian, Elizabeth, Zoe, Thomas and Emma and great grandchildren Noah, Adrian and Sofiia. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Agatha; brothers Glen, Richard and Ron.   Bud was born on March 12, 1936 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Joseph and Agatha Konzelman. He married Florence Judith Zygarliski on September 26, 1959.   As a young man, Bud helped his father with his butcher/ meat delivery business and his house building business. He worked for R.E. Spear of Canada Ltd. and later for Xerox Canada. Bud was incredibly proud of his work and he advanced quickly to management, however he was more of a “hands on kinda guy”. He could take apart and fix almost anything and if you were lucky he would show you how to do it. The highlight of Bud’s Xerox career was traveling to Aruba and Rome with his wife as a reward based on his performance. He retired in his early fifties but still kept in contact with all his work buddies.   Bud had a very open and honest attitude about life, he wasn’t afraid to share his opinions. As stubborn as he was, he was also kind and generous in his own way and helped many a family member in need. Bud demanded detail and excellence, he would say “if you are going to do a job, do it right the first time, it will save you the hassle of redoing it a second”, and he lived by that.   On Monday December 11, 2017 Bud’s Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. All are welcome to attend. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Bud’s Service.   Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 1020 Main Street, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
