Leslie, Lindsay, Greg – We are so very sorry for your loss. Garth will live on forever in all our hearts with all the wonderful memories we all have had with him.We cherish memories of the times we attended the family reunions, the parties at your home and the Santa Breakfasts at The Paddlewheel in The Bay. Our grandchildren still talk about Garth choosing George to be the ‘engine’ on the conga-line “TRAIN” and inviting him onto the stage for some serious bantering and dancing the “Twist”. Garth always knew how to turn a good time into a better time.We are sorry we are unable to be in Winnipeg for the Celebration of Garth’s life – our hearts and spirits will be there with you that day and many more.

Garth and I started in ATC together in 1972, and were roommates for a while. He was always a great friend, and a terrific guy to be around. We don't get to choose our co-workers, so having a great one like Garth all those years was a real privilege. My condolences to his family.

My sincerest condolences to Garth's family. I would like to share what a pleasure it was to help Garth at the business where I worked. He was much more than a customer, he became a friend I was glad to see many Friday afternoons over the summers. I looked forward to hearing Garth's stories and enjoyed how he talked about his family. He was always in a great mood and I know he just loved life. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts are with you.

Many years ago when Carl was working with CATCA a lot, we decided to have a garage party to thank all the people who had worked on Carl's campaign. We invited Garth to play for us........we alerted our neighbours that it would be loud.....it was loud and good.....I cannot remember how late Garth played.......but I was still cleaning up stuff at about 5:00 a.m. as the sun was making daylight visible...Later on in the day, when I saw my neighbours, I apologized profusely for our very loud and long night.......All they could say 'Who was that fellow playing......he was so good.....they weren't at all upset......they told me they loved his playing while they lay in bed being entertained. The world will miss your music, and we will miss a super human being. May the musical memories sustain your family in the trying days ahead.

To Leslie and family our deepest sympathies. Garth was always a good man in a storm and generous with his time. I remember our teen years fondly at oh so many teen dances watching him and the rest of the Mongrells put on a show. I especially loved his faces. As an air traffic controller he was well respected and gave my son solid advice that was much appreciated. Things will not be as much fun without him!

Garth was truly an inspirational and energetic man. He changed the path of my children in a most positive way by influencing us to enroll in Ecole Tuxedo Park. He was a cheerleader for his family and the causes he believed in. We are truly sorry for you, Leslie, Lindsay, and Greg for this great loss and void in your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
