Although I never worked directly with George, we would frequently meet in the hallways and converse (mostly 'guy stuff') and as a result, truly enjoyed his sense of humour and 'laissez-faire' attitude.....always refreshing. Thanks, George

I was saddened to hear of George's passing and my heartfelt condolences to George's family and friends. George was one of the most friendly and upbeat men I had ever met in my life. The world needs more people like him!!

George was a great friend and mentor to me in my early days at AC...always time to help understand the mysteries of computing in the early 70's. He always shared stories that spoke volumes about his love for his wife, Ron and Michelle, and his many friends.Thank you for his life and RIP George

Avis and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Knowing and working with you both for so many years brings back nothing but great memories. Even in retirement I would see George at the lacrosse alumni reunions and always have a good laugh about the old Air Canada days. George and that great smile will be missed.

My sympathy goes out to Avis and the family and I shall be thinking of them at this difficult time. It has been many years since I last saw George on one of my visits back to Winnipeg. I see him in some of my old black and white photos of him and the old gang. My memories of a smiling, mischievous young fellow bear out his same attitude to life as he grew older. RIP George.

Avis, my heart goes out to you and your family at this very sad time in your life. I am so honoured to have known George when we both worked at Air Canada. He was always so full of life and energy, always teasing and joking..Seeing you and George at Cancer Care and both of us having chemo at the same time brought back alot of memories for both of us...I'm grateful that we had a chance to reminise about old times. The memory of him will forever live in our hearts.

Avis, I am so sorry to hear George has passed on. My condolences to you and your family.George was a great person to work with. Was always in a good mood and willing to share a joke or story about his weekend and family. His barbecue timing was hilarious - hamburgers = 1 beer, steak = 2 beers, chicken = 3 beers. As a supervisor he was the best. He always made me feel like I was working with him, not for him. After he retired, I was lucky enough to be able to run into Michelle quite frequently to get updates on how you both were enjoying his retirement. I'm regretting not making it out to Gaffers to see him and the rest of the C&SS crew following my own retirement. I'll have to remedy that very soon.Linda Young
