My deepest condolences to Gerry’s family on his passing. My brother Gordie Kent was his sister Germaine’s partner. When Gordie was dying with cancer, he asked Gerry to take my brother Hayden Kent and I up in his plane. I was in Winnipeg from PEI and Gerry in his kind way did so and welcomed us into he & Mollie’s home, He took us over the city of Winnipeg and Lac Du Bonnie, this is a memory I will always cherish!

Gerry, you were such a special person. For 34 years, we shared more than just work—we shared a true friendship that meant the world to me. I looked forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays because Blu—your best buddy—came in with you, and on those days, he was mine too. He brought joy to everyone at the office; the entire shop Blu had his routine just like you did also big and bold like you. Whenever you and Mollie went away, it was an honor to watch over Blu he became a part of our family. You and Mollie were a team in every sense—a beautiful, steady presence. Your love for her was unwavering, and so was your love for your family. And the truth is, your family became our family too. We celebrated together, supported one another, and shared in the moments that made life meaningful. You and Mollie shared a true love and partnership that inspired everyone who knew you both. The bond you shared with Mollie was something truly beautiful—your love for her was always shining through. You led with heart and gave even more in return. You taught me how to keep moving forward, even when it’s hard. “Turn Can’t Into Next”—that was you, through and through. You will be deeply missed and always remembered with love and respect.
