Dear Iris, Doug, Eli and Micah,I am thinking of you now and hoping you are filled with fond memories, along with the sorrow of your loss. You have all certainly helped me through my journey with my parents, and I want to express at this time how important that has been to me. Although I have never had the pleasure of meeting Gladys, I am glad to hear how much she enjoyed the performing arts. I am sure that she is very proud of her grandsons. You have my deepest condolences.Martha

As friends of Iris and Doug, we too have had the the wonderful opportunity to get together with Gladys when she was in Toronto, happily visiting with her family. Each time we met with Gladys, she always greeted us with such warmth, smiles and questions regarding how we were doing. In all of our conversations, Gladys also always enjoyed talking proudly about her kids and grandchildren, who, so obviously, she adored. We are so sorry to hear about your mom / mother-in-law /grandmother's death, Iris, Doug, Eli and Micah and know that, although she is gone, she will be with all of you forever.

As friends of Iris & Doug, Ken and I had the opportunity to spend time with Gladys when she was visiting in Toronto for family occasions. I will remember her as an engaging conversationalist who was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren. Our thoughts are with you as you mourn her passing, and in time, celebrate her life and legacy. Love, Martin & Ken

Gladys was a memorable and well-liked Office Manager at AM&T. She was always ready to listen to the complaints and problems of the legal secretaries who worked there and with her sense of humour and practical advice smoothed our day-to-day working path. Rest in peace Gladys.

The last time I saw Gladys was here in Toronto at Iris' 50th birthday party. It was held at Lyndsay and David's home on a beautiful spring day. As I made motions to begin leaving, Gladys said she would walk me out and have a smoke. We sat outside and chatted; mostly about how wonderful Iris was (still is). Gladys lit her cigarette and in her delightful voice chided herself for the habit. She asked me to remind her how Iris and I met, which I did. We then moved onto age and how I was 9 years older than Iris. Her eyebrows shot upwards and she said, 'No, you're not!' I smiled with delight waving her hand in dismissal. I hugged her as she did me. I said she was wonderful and I left. She was wonderful - smart, funny, warm, loving, engaging and so caring. Despite the geographical and contact distance I will miss her. Love and Hugs Gladys, xx
