Graham Edwin Wren

Graham Edwin Wren, 71 yrs, of Winnipeg, died July 7, 2025, in Winnipeg, peacefully in hospital surrounded by his family after a prolonged battle with COPD and heart failure.
He was born June 19, 1954, to John and Joan Wren in Woodstock, Ontario. He attended the University of Manitoba, graduating with degrees in Science and Education, and two masters degrees in animal medicine and zoology.

He married Linda Nanowski on July 7, 1981 and they had two children, John Edwin Christopher Wren and Michael Graham Wren. He worked as an educator with both Fort Whyte Alive, and the Seine River School Division (at Lorette Collegiate and St. Norbert Collegiate). Graham was a passionate hobbyist, both artistic and athletic. From high school till the last days of his life he enjoyed playing tabletop games with his friends and family. For more than two decades he practiced karate, attaining the rank of second degree black belt. He was known for his artistry, working in mediums of photography, paint, clay, and miniatures. Graham was known for his love of nature, humor, intelligence, and honesty. A true warrior in all aspects of life, he fought till the very end to be with his family.

Graham is survived by his wife Linda, his children John (Christine) and Michael, and his grandchildren James and Charles. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Joan, and his siblings Pam (Bernie) and Christine.

A private celebration of life followed by an interment of his ashes at St. Vital Cemetery will be held next week; please contact the family for details. Donations may be made in his name to the Manitoba Lung Association, Manitoba Heart Association, Fort Whyte Alive, or the Forum Art Centre.
