GREGORY CHARLES ELLIS On Sunday, January 13, 2013, Gregory died at the age of 64 years. In compliance with Gregory’s wishes, there will not be a Funeral Service.Publish Date: Feb 2, 2013GREGORY CHARLES ELLIS It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful Father, Grandfather, Brother, Son, and cherished friend, Greg Ellis. He succumbed to a courageous year-long battle with throat cancer on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the age of 64, at his home in Winnipeg. He is survived by his two daughters Carla (Tim) and Vanessa (Tim); grandchildren Caiden, Macy and Sawyer; sister Bev; stepmother Anne; nephew Christopher, and numerous cousins and friends from across the country. He was predeceased by his father, Harold (2004) and mother, Jean (1979). Greg was born in Winnipeg and was a long-time resident of the city, despite the love of the open road that kept him away for periods of time. He explored every corner of Canada and traveled the US from coast to coast while working with Cousin’s, Penner’s, Safeway and Reimer trucking companies. His witty nature and open heart enabled him to make friends wherever he went. His love of the beautiful scenery and landscapes was always captured by a photo and later saved for sharing with those closest to him. He had great love for his daughters and grandchildren, fishing with his friends, word puzzles and trains. Many gracious thank-yous to all doctors, nurses and staff with CancerCare Manitoba and to all friends who were there to stand beside him and see the sun on the dark days.
