HAROLD GEORGE PATSON
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Harold, our dear husband, father and grandfather at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg. Left to mourn Harold’s passing are his wife Zonia; son Mark (Annette); grandchildren Caitlyn, Tristan and Mark, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Christopher in 2009. Harold was born to George and Barbara Patson on a farm near the village of Libau, Manitoba. He went to school and worked on the farm until 1952 when he then moved to Winnipeg to work for McCurdy Supply Company. In 1958 Harold met and married Zonia Hovrisko of Wroxton, Saskatchewan.They brought up two sons, Mark and Christopher and enjoyed traveling throughout Canada and the USA as well as many sunny destinations. In 1963 he went to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway in the Signals and Communications Department, and remained with the company until his retirement in 1994. In retirement Harold loved to tend his garden and fix the things that needed fixing that were left undone during his working career. He departed this world to be with God on May 24, 2017 with his wife by his side. Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue with Rev. Fr. Robert Polz presiding. A private family Inurnment was held in Holy Family Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the emergency responders and staff at Grace Urgent Care for their exceptional efforts in sustaining life.
