HELEN ELIZABETH BENCHARSKI
(nee LIB)
January 9, 1932 ? May 30, 2015

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Bencharski on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the Luther Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB.
Left to lovingly remember and miss Helen are her four siblings, Mary (John) Stefankiw, Isaac (Rose) Lib, Julia (Leonard) Borsa, Verna (Casmer) Chyz; ten children that she always said she was so proud of, Christine (Patrick) Manaigre, Frank (Pat) Bencharski, Brian (Gwen) Bencharski, David (Linda) Bencharski, Doreen (Andy) Holowaty, Wayne (Sandra) Bencharski, Daniel Bencharski, Gregory Bencharski (Ellen), Gerald (Stephanie) Bencharski, Joanne (Cameron) Ogilvie; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul and her much loved grandson Bradley.
Helen was born in Stove Creek, SK and met and married Paul Bencharski on August 19, 1950. Paul and Helen had a mixed farm near Elfros, SK for over 40 years. After moving off the farm mom spent most of her years in Wynyard, SK and the past eight years in Winnipeg where she was close to most of her children. Mom asked for so little, yet she gave so much. Her life was not easy, however, she never complained and many staff members in the Luther Home told us that our Mom was a real sweetheart.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Wishart, SK Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to Mass at 9:00 a.m. A memorial service will also be held at a later date at the Luther Home in Winnipeg.
Special thanks to the nurses, the aides and the occupational therapists at the Luther Home. We truly appreciate the care and attention provided to our mom over the short period of time she was there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
