It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helena Samus on October 30, 2021, peacefully at Golden West Centennial Lodge, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 92 years.
Helena was the beloved wife and survived by her husband of 75 years, Jozef Samus; son John Samus (Vancouver); daughter Ann Jessen (Vagn), (Denmark); Grandchildren, Robert Mizeracki (Marcy), Lydia Danilis (Trifen) Christopher Samus (Dawn), Robert Samus (Yolanta), Rich Mizeracki, Teresa and Joey (Denmark); Dana Samus (Daughter in law) and Richard Mizeracki (son in law); nephew Jim Koszela (Lydia); nieces Renata (Eddy), Mirka (Janusz), as well many great-grandchildren, friends and relatives in Denmark, Poland, Winnipeg, and Vancouver. Helena was predeceased by her daughter Krystyna Mizeracki in 2016; five sisters and two brothers in Poland.
For as long as she was able, Helena enjoyed sewing, visits from family and friends for dinners.
