Helene Piche

March 17, 1919 - August 15, 2016

HÉLÈNE PICHÉ
Hélène V. (Arnal) Piché passed away peacefuly on Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Winnipeg Grace Hospital in the presence of her two daughters.      Hélène was born to Almir and Bertha Arnal (nee Besse) on March 17, 1919. Being the third of seventeen children, she learned the value of hard work and the joy of family. Fannystelle, MB was her home community where she grew up, married and farmed with her husband, Roger until their retirement in 1973. Together they built a farm, raised two daughters, formed many friendships and contributed to their community. Following Pépère’s death in April 1978, Hélène  moved  to  Winnipeg, found a job and  became a dedicated and active member of Saint John XXIII Parish.      Hélène made a difference in the lives of the people she touched. We will always remember her as a loving daughter and sister, a compassionate and caring wife, a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook and we will never forget those delicious vanilla cookies which have become a holiday season tradition. Mémère was a keen card player and every Christmas she would have a little purse full  of coin after winning many games. She was a tireless volunteer and CWL member for many years, and was always eager to help others no matter how much time and energy it required. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives and we will miss the sound of her voice, her gentle touch and her generous heart.      Wojcik’s Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com
