HENRY LIONNEL COSS

Peacefully with his loving wife Elizabeth and family by his side, Henry Lionnel Coss passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 80 years.
Henry was born to parents Philip and Marie on July 10, 1934, in Laurier Manitoba. One of eight brothers, he grew up on the family farm and had many fond childhood memories. In his teen years later found work in Winnipeg, eventually meeting his first wife, Florence. They married on May 28, 1955 and together had four children, Greg (Barb), Jo-Anne (Ed), Randy (Monica) and Connie (Blaine).
Then on July 26, 1956, Henry Joined the Winnipeg Fire Department and served for over 35 years retiring as Captain on March 8, 1992. This, he was very proud of and loved his career as a Fireman. He also loved being a snow bird, took up golf at the age of 57 and was an avid shuffler. Henry enjoyed many things, whether it was recreational or volunteering. But what he most enjoyed out of life was his family.
On October 10, 1998, Henry?s family grew once more, when he married the new love of his life Elizabeth. And in doing so gained four more children, Sheila (predeceased) (Chris), Mark (Sherri), Ted (Liseanne), Tammy (Henry). Together they made loving memories with his new extended family, friends in Paradise Village and Mesa Arizona. For 16 years they would be wed until his passing.
Left to mourn Henry are his brothers Marcel (Alma), Paul (Mila), Edmond (Jo-Anne), Johnny (Darlene) and Alcide (Lorna); 11 grandchildren, Philip, Julianne (T.J.), Laura, Sean (Elise), Meghan (Warren), Lisa, Jessica, Steven, Derek (Jenna), Brett and Blake; six step grandchildren, Haelley, Ryan, Hayden, Shaylyne, Desmond and Jasmyne; and great grandchildren, Eamonn and Charlotte. He was predeceased by brothers Gerald and Victor.
Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Road. Interment will follow in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, One Morley Avenue or a charity, organization of your choice.
