HILDA GAGELMANN

HILDA GAGELMANN (nee SEITZ) January 14, 1921 – May 27, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hilda Gagelmann at the Golden West Centennial Lodge. Hilda is survived by her son Joerg (George) Gagelmann of Winnipeg; granddaughter, Terri-Lynn Delany Ferguson (Kim) of Vancouver and Grant Delany (Marion) of Pinawa. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Sabine in 1992 and her husband of 54 years, Herbie in 1998. Mom was born in Karlshafen, Germany and survived the Second World War there. She married Herbie Gagelmann in January, 1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1954. The family settled in Winnipeg where they provided a good life for their two young children. Hilda and Herbie left Winnipeg in 1979 to retire in Inwood, MB where they stayed until Herbie’s ill health forced a move back to Winnipeg. Hilda loved to garden and do every handicraft under the sun; she was the ultimate seamstress, making all her own clothes until her arthritis and failing eyesight made it too difficult to continue. She spent her last two years at the Grace Hospital, Oakview Place and Golden West Centennial Lodge. Hilda was an outspoken, stubborn and extremely feisty lady to the very end! Grateful thanks is extended to all those who cared for my mother. In compliance with Mom’s wishes; there will not be a Funeral Service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
