Hinton Bradbury was a gem. They just do not make them like him anymore. He of course would laugh this kind of a comment off as he did not take himself very seriously at all. My first contact with Hinton was through my sons Ari and Rami Posner who played racquetball at the YMHA under his tutelage and guidance. There were others as well, but I know he had a definite positive effect on my boys. Understand that the time he gave Saturday afternoons and also on Wednesdays after school, he gave on his on accord and without a cost to anybody. He did it all because he wanted to do so. Find that anywhere these days. He was a first class teacher. He was the reason I believe my boys continued in the sport even after they stopped at the Y. He gave them a love for the game. Later, I had my own personal time with Hinton playing racquetball with him at the University of Winnipeg from the years between 2000 and 2012 when we left Winnipeg for Toronto. Such a joy to play with was Hinton. He was far better than I was, but he allowed me to be competitive and have some great games with him and others. As I reads the obit, i realized that, although I recognized he had much depth to his character, i was totally unaware of just how involved he was in so many diverse areas. He was truly a remarkable guy who touched many lives in many different ways. Aside from all of that, he had a terrific sense of humour which I appreciated. Hinton will be missed by students, former students, colleagues and friends, but most of all. as was clear in the obit, by his family. A true loss for all.
