Dear Patty, Beth, Brian, Andie & Dave:Very saddened by the news of Hugh's passing. He was larger than life and such a good man. He welcomed us with open arms into his family, his home, his pool and his beer fridge when we came to visit. He felt like family to me. The true mark of a good man. Thinking of you all and trust he is at peace.Carolyn

Dear Patti, Beth, Allyson, and Families - We were so saddened and shocked at the news of Hughie's passing. We saw him at breakfast just before we went away for the winter - Thank You God for that - as we were able to give him a hug and a kiss, say goodbye, promised we will get together with him and Patti in the spring. No one could have ever asked for better neighbours as your mom and dad/grandpa were. After they moved from Diamond, we really missed them, especially hearing their voices through the fence doing our spring yard work. Too cute and funny! We had the pleasure of golfing with him and Patti at Selkirk GC. It was a Best Ball tournament and had to use a ball from one of us girls which happened to land behind a tree. Hughie hit that ball and put it right on the green, confirming what a good golfer he really was! During our backyard happy hours Hughie would often tell us how proud both were of all their children's and grandchildren's accomplishments! He was a wonderful man and a gentleman! Our Love and condolences go out to all of you! He will always be in our memories and in our hearts!

Uncle Hughie in many ways was like a second Dad to me. I recall when he lived with us (his sister's home) as a young bachelor and I had the pleasure of his one-on-one cuddles. He was an uncle who was very involved and made everyone laugh. Have you ever seen someone be able to lick their ear (lol)? My heart is broken for Aunt Patti, and his daughters Beth and Allyson. He lived for his family and grandchildren....so proud. He will be forever missed by so many and my prayers are with you all.

Our thought and prayers are with the whole family at this very difficult time. I will truly miss Uncle Hughie. He was the one who would always give you a kiss when he saw you and ask how everything was. Kim and I had the privilege of having Aunty Patti and Uncle Hughie visit us in Calgary and it was a memorable visit. I will always cherish the memories of the Turnbull New Year’s Day gatherings, trips to Delta beach and of course more memories to come. Love the t-shirt I can’t keep calm, I’m a Turnbull.Rest in Peace Uncle Hughie.

Mrs Turnbull, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Having met the family I can certainly say that Hugh left quite a wonderful legacy in your children and grandchildren who will sadly miss their father and grandpa. Our best wishes at this very difficult time. Allan, Ingrid & family.
