I am saddened to learn of Irwin's passing. When I got my first skates, he took me by the hand and pulled me round and round the skating rink until I could stay up on my skates – that’s how I learned to skate. Condolences to his family.

My condolences go out to Paul & Danielle, Mike & Linda and their children. On the loss of their Dad and Grampa.Uncle Irwin your door was always open to everyone. You always had a way to cheer anyone up when they had a bad day. How you loved your chocolates, peanuts, sunflower seeds. Of course we cant forget your Friday nights to Tim Hortons! We have no need to worry about you going to Heaven all alone. Your half brothers & sisters including my Dad will be there to greet you. That I'm sure you'll all have lots to catch up on! I know Ben & Ike will have a party going already. I'm sure Leslie needs some help fixing his vehicles. YOU ROCKED UNCLE IRWIN! Now that all your pain is gone. Rest In Peace! I'll Miss You! Till We Meet Again Someday! xoxoxoxo

Raymond and I were very saddened to hear of Uncle Irwin's passing. He was a true treasure that I had found later in my life and I will always remember with very fond memories. From our visits to Winnipeg where he took us all about (loved going to Altona) to his visit here in PEI. He was so kind to me, my husband Raymond and son Jonathan. I've read other's comments and just can't help but smile as his true kindness shines through in everyone's memories. I sure wish we had lived closer as I truly feel I've lost out on many great times that could have been. Saying that though, every time we were together he made me feel so loved and part of the family. Thank you Uncle Irwin. Loved and always missed.

Dear Gloria, Paul, Mike and all Irwin's family. Growing up far away from my parent's relatives, I only got to meet Irwin a few times - but they were always memorable. As a young girl we visited one summer and he made me feel very special-taking a real interest in getting to know me - and lots of laughs. I think I have to credit him with my first taste of beer! Many years later he visited us here in St Margaret's Bay and I was thrilled that he could meet my son Carson. Uncle Irwin had a gift for making kids feel welcomed and special - I will cherish my fond memories of him.
